Is The Self Full of True Beliefs?
Posted on
After The Three Levels of Leadership came out in 2011, readers followed up with questions on leadership, leadership psychology and self-mastery – all of them interesting. So interesting, in fact, that I’m releasing my answers here as they supplement the “Three Levels” material and others may find them useful. Here’s the second in the series. I’ll post the others over the coming months…
Q2. Is the Self full of true beliefs?
“Actually, the Self isn’t full of anything. In other words, the real “You” isn’t full of anything.
The Self is a creative centre of consciousness – a centre of pure self-awareness, pure will and pure imagination.
It has capability and potential, but no content.
It creates its content – above all, a self-image and a worldview – in its mind. Thus, it’s the mind that is full of helpful and unhelpful (that is, limiting) beliefs. Not Self.”
