On Saturday 25 November 2023, in the run up to the release of my team building trilogy, How To Build Winning Teams Again And Again, on 11 January 2024, I was interviewed on Bobby Kerr’s Down to Business show on NewsTalk in Ireland. The fast-paced interview – which on this occasion was led by stand-in host Emmet Oliver – ranged over several team building topics and lasted 13 minutes. He asked questions like:
- How do you define a team?
- What differentiates winning teams from other teams?
- Will a team of 12 people alwys outperform 12 individuals?
- Democracy in teams is all very well, but don’t you need one person to make a final decision?
- When we hire people without considering who else is already in the team personality -wise, does that cause big problems in teams?
